The 1908-1909 track team consisted of only four runners but the runners made the most of their ability. The team, under the tutelage of Coach R.T. Tenny tied for third place at the State Track Meet with Shattuck Preparatory School. Nine schools competed in the State Track Meet.
The team was led by sprinter Levi Hall. Hall tied the state record for the 200 yard dash in 23 seconds!. Three times, he ran the 100 yard dash in 10.2 seconds!
Ekner Carrier was the distance runner, running the mile and half mile races. Emmons Sawyer was the weight competitor, tossing the shot put and discus. Jerome Fritsche was the jumper on the team.
Harold Camp was the student manager of the team and Richard Schmidt was his assistant.
