The 1927-1928 gymnastics team was the best in the history of the school up to this point. The team began what became an unprecedented run in championships at North high school
The team won every dual meet the Polars participated in. They defeated Edison easily and won their second consecutive conference title a week later.
The team also won the Northwestern championship for the first time. This meet was held at the Minneapolis Armory. The Advanced team won by 56.5 over second place Roosevelt. The Novice team finished second to Roosevelt by 34 points. North won the Overall title because of these combined differences. Uno Seklund took first place in the Horizontal Bar and Parallel Bars.
