Beverly Propes RN, Licensed School Nurse

The School Nurse plans for and supports health needs  of all students, including those who have chronic health conditions or who have medical needs at school. The School Nurse provides support to students in special education, who have medical health needs at school and serves on the Education evaluation team.  Following the No School No Shots! Minneasota Department of Health Immunization Pogram, the School Nurse tracks and coordinate immunization records for all North High School students.

North High School Based Clinic (Mini-Clinic)
Health care providers from the North Point Health and Wellness Center staff the school based clinic. Services are available to students attending North High School.  The clinic is funded by grants from the United Way, Hennepin County and Minnesota Department of Health-Maternal Child Health. Parents are provided with a consent form to sign in order for their child to be seen at the Mini-Clinic.  Hours:  8:30-11:30 daily.

       Medication Policy
Taking Medications in School

Health office staff can administer medication with a written order from the health care provider that has a licnsed to prescribe medication and with a written consent from the parent/guardian.

Health Services

Record annual health information collected from parent and health care provider.

Conduct vision and hearing screening

Develop Emergency and Individual Health Plans for special needs students

Monitor students with health needs including medications, treatments parental concerns and health care provider communication.

Follow-up and record student health concerns .

Participate as member of the evaluation team in special education meetings.

Provide resource and referral information to parents for dental, behavioral health and medical health care services.

Health Operations and Services

Health office is open from 7:30am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Parent completed health information form is required for all students as well as current immunizations.  Student with incomplete immunizations can have immunizations through the Adolescent Health Clinic located in the health office.  Parent permission to access the clinic is required.
