Dear Families of North High School:

Earlier this month, I wrote to inform you of the upcoming change in administrative team at North High Senior Academy and thank Mr. Peter Christensen for his service to your school community. At that time, I indicated we would communicate with you as we worked to identify a new leader for your school.

We are pleased to announce that we have asked Mr. David Branch to lead the administration at North High Senior Academy as principal.

Mr. Branch has worked at MPS since 1994. Most recently, he served as principal at Lucy Craft Laney for five years and Anne Sullivan for three years. Prior to theat, he was employed at Lincoln as an assistant principal for one year and an intern assistant principal for two years. During his career with MPS, he has also served as lead social work coordinator at Harrison, lead school social worker for MPS Special Education and social worker on special assignment.

Mr. Branch received his educational administration license with coursework at St. Mary's University of Minnesota. He received his Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work degrees at Augsburg College.

Of his new position, Mr. Branch says, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with students, teachers and families of North High Senior Academy to ensure they have a rigorous and enriching learning experience as they prepare for their post-secondary careers. As a North High graduate and longtime north side resident, I am honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with families as we continue to transform the north side back in to a vital, healthy community."

Please join me in welcoming Mr. Branch to North High Senior Academy.

Sincerely,

Mark Bonine
Associate Superintendent
