GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a nation-wide, federally-funded initiative offered throughthe U.S. Department of Education. Minneapolis Public Schools was awarded a seven year, $14 million dollar grant beginning January 2015. Gear Up will serve 2,560 students in 17 schools through their senior year of high school and through their first year of college.
The grant focuses on five key objectives and provides specific services.
