Welcome to the International Baccalaureate Program at North Community High School!

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Program is an excellent course of rigorous study that not only teaches global competencies and college-readiness skills but also allows students to earn free credits at some universities. Students who participate in North's IB program take IB classes from six possible areas, comprised of Art, Math, History, English, Biology and Spanish. In addition to these courses, students take part in the following:

Theory of Knowledge (TOK): The interdisciplinary TOK course is designed to provide coherence by exploring the nature of knowledge across disciplines and encouraging an appreciation of other cultural perspectives.

Creativity, Action, Service (CAS): Over a period of two years, students develop a portfolio of their self selected and extended involvement in artistic pursuits, sports and community service work outside the academic arena.

At the moment, North IB students can earn the IB Medallion and IB Certificates. Requirements will be posted soon.

Starting next year, current sophomores will be eligible to earn IB Diplomas if they enroll in six IB courses and complete the following requirements. They will also be able to earn an IB Medallion and IB Certificates.
