This is my seventh year teaching students with special needs, and my second year teaching at North. I have worked as a SPAN teacher in Minneapolis Public Schools and a resource teacher in Saint Paul Public Schools. I am also a proud graduate of Minneapolis Public Schools.

In the SPAN (Special Program for Adolescent Needs) program, I teach science, social studeis and study skills, as well as advisory. For the 2016-17 school year, we will be utilizing the MPS focused instruction curriculum for physics and US history.

In addition to teaching, I case manage students in the SPAN program. This entails three year special education evaluations, annual individual education plan (IEP) management, and assisting students to develop their plan for transitioning from secondary education to post secondary schools, careers, and independent living.

I look forward to an exciting school year at North High School, a community school that places art integration and communication skills a key component of student’s educational experience.
