My name is Gloria Meulepas. This is my first year at North Academy of Arts and Communication(NAAC) in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am the 11th grade Special Education Resource Teacher. I team teach Algebra II with Mr. Joe Bush, and English/Language Arts with Mrs. Nafeesah Muhammed. I teach an Advisory and a Study Skills class also.

What is this class about?
This course is designed to provide students with opportunities to acquire and/or practice the skills needed to be successful in their regular education classes. This course will offer students a variety of ways in which they can improve in their regular education classes such as: time management, following directions, and planning career goals.
What activities will we be doing?
On Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week, students will have a journal writing exercise. On Tuesday and Thursday, students will learn about a skill for studying, career planning, and organization. Upon completion of their journal or class assignment for the day, students are expected to work on homework from other classes. If students need to complete an assignment on the computer, students may get a pass to work on the assignment in the Media Center.
What is expected of me as a student?
Students are expected to attend class daily, bring homework from other classes to work on, be respectful, listen to other peers, and participate in class discussions.
How will I be graded?
MPS grading scale is as follows:
90-100 = A 80-90 =B 70-79 =C 60-69 =D below 60 =F
