National history day is a research project and competition that students particpate in across the country and around the world. Most 10th and 11th graders at North participate in history day each year, researching a topic of their choice and creating a product in the form of a presentation board, webpage, documentary or performance.
This year's theme was Taking a Stand and 15 North students received honors at the regional competition. North scholars researched the Stonewall Riots, the Children's March, the Mississippi Burning Trial, the Littlerock Nine and many other important times people took a stand.
Students recognized were:
Honorable Mention: Tamere Powell, Jontae Wiley, Deja Hatcher, Tatiana Gross, Khadijah Masud, and Bryana Thomas-Butler, and one other student.
Students going to State: Althea Hadley, A'Niyah Davis, Marli Lewis, Lori Price, Charmonie Strickling and three other students.
A HUGE congratulations to these amazing history scholars!!!
