North Students perform at Guthrie Theatre as part of Viva City 2017.

North dance students collaborated with Southwest dance students in an original piece choreographed by Toni Pierce Sands, artistic director of the TU Dance Company.   This piece was created specifically in honor of retiring teacher Colleen Callahan - Russell.  Ms. Callahan is a founding dance instructor in the visual performance arts magnet at North High School.   North dance instructor, Tamiko French, was Colleen's student at North, has choreographed as a guest artist at Southwest, and now continues the dance tradition as the lead instructor at North High School.

Watch the dance performance on North High's Facebook Page (don't forget to follow and like while you are there)

Also, North theatre students performed sketches of an emerging new play at the festival.  The piece, Untitled Number 5, is an early exploration of questions of identity.  It questions intersections of how individuals are percieved when seen as strangers and then seen when known.
