1925-1926 Golf Season
Leonard Pierson, Clarence Gale, Head Coach Horace Street, Clarence Pierson, Donald Burris.

The Fall of 1925 seemed to produce champions at North.  The golf team was no exception.  The team, having won the championship last Spring, was ready to defend it’s title.  Central was considered to be the favorite, setting a record low score for a four man team with a 298.  The Polars, however, caught Central on a bad day and defeated them.  The Polars defeated all of their conference opponents, on their was to a 5-0 record and conference championship.

Spring Golf team: Earl Larson, Russell Frandson, Clarence Pierson, Clayton Lewcock, Philip Sheridan, Head Coach Horace Street.
The final match of the season, against Marshall, set two conference records.  Central’s 298, set in the Spring of 1925 was shattered by the Polars.  The new record was now 291!  Clarence Pierson broke his brother’s individual record by three strokes, scoring a 68.   Clarence, was only a freshman when he broke Leonard’s record.  (Leonard was a senior on the team.)
