1957-1958 Men's Swimming Season

The Polar swimmers finished the season with an 8-2 record, good for second place in the conference.  Coach Clive Cleary had the Polars swimming faster and diving better than teams have in many years.

The team won against Central (43-38), Edison (54-33), Henry (62-25), Marshall (57-24), South (67-19), Southwest (64-23), Vocational (69-18) and West (47-40).  The only two losses came at the hands of Roosevelt

(46-41) and Washburn (51-36).


Individual honors came for diver Bob Johnson who was undefeated during the regular season.  At the conference meet, he easily won the diving crown.
