North High Welcomes Volunteers

"It takes a Village to Raise a Child" 

We welcome and value parent and community volunteers who give of their time and talent to help students.

Currently we have volunteers from local colleges and Universities, community members, parents, retired educators, alumni and more. They volunteer in a variety of areas including:

  • Science
  • Math
  • English
  • Athletics
  • Family Outreach & Event Planning

For the safety and security of our students, all volunteers at North High are screened and must go through an orientation process. To volunteer please note the following steps:

Step 1 - Fill out and submit an online application at:  - If you are a parent complete the 'Parent' application.: If you are not

Step 2 - On the same site above, there is a tab to fill out an authorization to conduct criminal background check. This form must be completed and mailed or delivered to the indicated address along with the $7 processing fee.  It will take about 2 weeks for the background check to be completed. In the mean time go on to step 3.

Step 3 - Contact the school's volunteer coordinator to discuss the area/classroom you are interested in volunteering in and make an appointment to come in for an orientation. Call 612-668-1726 (Orientations usually only take about 30 minutes).

Step 4 - Once the school is notified that your background check has been cleared, you will be contacted to begin!
