On Tuesday (2/26) the State of Minnesota, Transportation Finance & Policy Division of the MN House of Representatives, held a public committee meeting in the North High School auditorium. The hearing was one of many held outside of the normal meeting setting in the State Capital building, to discuss transportation issues that affect people in the community and across Minnesota. There were about 100 community members in attendance, the meeting was open to all members of the community, and the committee welcomed public testimony.
Individuals and groups provided testimony to the committee about transportation and specifically about Bills:
HF195 (Lee) - Bus upgrades prioritized to areas with poor air quality.
HF489 (Dehn) - Free public transit on election day provided.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, shown here with North High's Radio teacher, Paul Kraimer, helped open the meeting with a welcome to the committee and audience and started with the first testimony to the committee.
